BRIEFING

The Problem/Question: How can drones take part in our society? And how will this affect the way people live? In this project of the Pop Up School there was also a practical part. 3 weeks after the brainstorm, a drone café would be build and they expected around 2000 - 3000 visitors. The students at the TU Eindhoven had built an autonomous drone that would be able to take an order and bring drinks to costumers and would present their invention at the Dream & Dare Festival at Eindhoven. The only problem was that they had no idea how to communicate their ideas to the people.

ELABORATION

We created an experience hall that would dare the visitors to dream and think about the increasing technological future. We gave a start by lining up some of the most influential inventions in the history of technology and then gave some blank space where they would be able to give their own input. We designed some themed notepads with questions as a conversation starter. We based the whole design on the looks of a blueprint as a reference to the invention of new technology.

Take a look at the results below.

The project also got some (inter)national publicity, for example: Daily Mail, HLN, Yahoo, Metro, and so on.
